Economic development has become a stand out focus for Rother District Council. Rother’s dual rural / coastal setting and outstanding scenery, hide a local economy struggling with low wage levels, poor road and rail infrastructure, a dispersed rural population and an ageing demographic profile, all of which provide challenges and opportunities for the Council when considering the economic and social well-being of the district.

  • Rother is about to embark on a new economic development strategy, focusing on place and skills, that will speak to the county wide Prosperity Strategy and replace Rother’s Covid Economic Recovery Plan.
