Levelling Up is the Government’s social and economic programme looking to spread opportunity more equally across the UK, matching talent with the chance to grow. ‘Levelling up’ means giving everyone the opportunity to flourish. It means people everywhere living longer and more fulfilling lives, and benefitting from sustained rises in living standards and well-being.’ Levelling Up White Paper.
Rother is benefitting in three ways:
- Levelling Up Fund: this was a competitive grant programme to which Rother District Council made a successful bid for two capital schemes, the De La Warr Pavilion and Sidley Community Hub.
- Levelling Up Partnership: run by the Department of Levelling UP, Communities and Housing (DLUCH), this £20m investment works directly with projects across the district.
- Long Term Plan for Towns; 10-year funding into Bexhill, supporting the development and implementation of a partnership led investment plan.
