Rural Community Infrastructure Grants – Now Open

This funding has been provided by the Rural England Prosperity Fund to support capital projects in rural areas, this means that we can only fund projects outside of Bexhill and the surrounding area.

Please note that the Rother Community Grants scheme funded projects inclusive of Bexhill. Please check the pages to see when this is open for applications.

We have a total of £100,000 for this fund until March 2025. Applications will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis until the total budget has been awarded.

Grants of

Projects need to be delivered by March 2025 and comply with grant eligibility requirements.

What will we fund?

The levelling up objectives for this funding are to strengthen our social fabric and foster a sense of local pride and belonging in Rother through investment in activities that enhance physical, cultural and social ties and amenities; however, we also want to ensure that projects meet local objectives, which should included in your application.

The funding is for capital projects only. For a definition of ‘capital’ and example projects, go to the Eligibility- Rural Spaces Improvement Grants page.

Example projects could be;

  • EV charging points for community use
  • Community energy schemes such as scaled-up biomass, heat pumps or solar
  • Capital grants for kitchens in community hubs

Applications to the scheme are welcomed from properly constituted organisations for services and activities which benefit the residents of Rother.

Permissions should be obtained prior to making an application, in particular, Planning Permission or Building Regulations approval.

We strongly advise reading the Eligibility page before making an application.

What grants are available?

You will be able to apply for capital grants of up to £20,000. Your project must have at least 50% of the total project funding in place.

When to apply?

This grant scheme is open. Applications will be assessed on a first-come, first-served basis until the funding pot has all been allocated; in this case, the application window will close.
