Rother District Council provides housing services to the people of the Rother District from the Community Help Point at the Town Hall.
The Council no longer directly owns housing following the transfer of it's housing stock in May 1998 to Rother Homes(now Amicus Horizon), a not-for-profit Local Housing Association. However, the Council has rights to a percentage of vacancies and gives help and advice to those in housing need, assistance to the homeless and help to those in Private Sector Housing and also maintains a Housing Register.
Housing Services have produced a booklet which gives details of the services we provide and how to go about accessing them. It also contains useful information on finding a new home. The booklet will give you a brief overview of most aspects of our work including housing advice, finding somewhere to rent privately, getting on the housing register, making improvements to your current home and energy efficiency. If you find you need more detailed information then go to the relevant section of the website by navigating through the tabs on the left hand side.
