Household waste and recycling sites reopened on the 18th of May – read the latest or check the FAQ’s for the latest guidance.
Salvation Army bins at mini recycling points (bring sites)
Charity shops and the Salvation Army bins at mini recycling points (bring sites) are currently closed. If you leave any items they will not be picked up by the charities and it will be considered fly tipping. Please store them away to help ensure they go to a good cause when shops and sites are re-opened. As usual, please do not place clothes in your recycling bin or bags.
Change to recycling sites under new waste contract with Biffa
The small Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) banks have been removed by East Sussex County Council. In response Rother District Council in partnership with Biffa have introduced a household small WEEE collection. Please place small WEEE in a carrier bag and put them on top of your black bin or green bin on collection day.
Please be aware that you can now place glass in with dry mixed recycling at these recycling sites. Glass no longer needs to be separated in the glass containers.
All other larger items of WEEE, for instance computers, television sets, cookers, washing machines, etc. can be either taken to your local Household Waste Recycling Sites (external link), or click this link to our Bulky Household Waste Collections page. If you are replacing a household good you usually have the option of asking for your old product to be removed, usually at a cost.
Rother recycling centres
Details of all the recycling centres in Rother, and details of the County ‘tips’ in Rother and nearby are shown below.
Rother recycling points are for public use only not trade/business use. Do not leave any items on the floor next to the containers, this could be viewed as fly tipping.
Please be aware that not all recycling points can handle every type of material.
More information about each recycling facility and opening times can be found under ‘Related Links’ at the bottom of the page
