Your waste, recycling and garden waste will be collected by our new contractor, Biffa. Your collection days will remain the same; in the event of collection day changes we will always contact you.

Recycling just got easier! Previously, you were asked to put your glass in a separate container.  Under the new contract, you no longer need to do this.

You no longer need to use your glass recycling box, instead glass will go in your recycling bin or pink sack (sack collection areas). The glass will be separated at the recycling facility and recycled as normal. That’s easier recycling for residents and fewer containers to take out to the kerbside.

Your glass box will not be collected – you can keep and re-use it

Our colleagues at East Sussex County Council have come up with some ideas for how you can re purpose your glass recycling box.

Tetra Pak change

There is also a minor change to what can be recycled, Tetra Pak’s, such as juice or long-life milk cartons, will no longer be processed as recycling and will need to be placed into your household waste, so they can be sent to the Newhaven Energy Recovery Facility. Visit our household recycling pages for a reminder of what can be recycled.

Why can’t Tetra Pak be recycled?
