Discretionary Council Tax Energy Rebate Scheme

Rother District Council has funding to give energy bill payers a one-off £150 payment to help with bills.

Please note: This scheme has now closed

This money is for people who are not eligible for the main Council Tax Energy Rebate Scheme.

Check out the following questions to see if you’re eligible:

  • Do you live in a household that is liable for Council Tax in band E to H?
  • Or do you live in a household that isn’t liable for Council Tax in band A to D but are responsible for energy costs?
  • Have you been resident in your property since 1 April 2022?
  • Are you in receipt of Universal Credit, Housing Benefit, Income Support, Council Tax Reduction, Income-based Jobseekers Allowance, Income-Related Employment and Support Allowance, Working Tax Credit or Pension Credit?

If you’re not on the above benefits you may still be eligible – if your net weekly income is less than £257.69 for a single person, and £384.62 for a couple and have capital of no more than £6000.

Funds for this scheme are only available until the end of November 2022 (or when the scheme runs out of funds) so if you think you’re eligible please apply via the link below.
