- Contact your doctor’s surgery to arrange a new Medical Report Form to be completed.
- Complete a DVLA Licence History form
- Bring the correct supporting documentation (Proof of ID, address and Right to Work in the UK)
- Make a Payment
- You will also need to make sure to include an additional payment if you are applying for a new DBS.
- From 4th April 2022 dual driver renewals will also need to perform a tax check. Our tax conditionality for dual driver and private hire operators page has further information about this.
The above forms and information is currently given to you in your renewal letter.
Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) Enhanced Disclosure
It is a condition of your licence that you are registered with the DBS Update Service and maintain the subscription throughout the length of your licence. Being registered with the DBS Update Service saves you time & money, in addition breaches of licence conditions will result in penalty points being imposed on your licence.
If you have registered with the DBS Update Service, you will need to present your original DBS certificate as part of the renewal process.
If you are not registered with the DBS Update Service or have lost your certificate, you must apply for a new Enhanced Disclosure. You must do the following:
- Contact the Licensing Team to inform them that you need to make a new DBS application
- Attend Bexhill Town Hall with the supporting documents mentioned below – you must attend in person so the ID can be checked fully
- Make the relevant DBS application fee
We work with uCheck to conduct our DBS checks. A link will be emailed to you from noreply@applicant.hr-platform.co.uk – please note this may go into your spam or junk email folder.
Access the DBS application from the link in the email, complete all the required sections and submitted the application. Once the application is submitted, a Licensing Officer will check it and authorise the application to be processed by uCheck.
When you receive your DBS certificate, this must be provided to us and you must registered it with the DBS Update Service immediately.
You can view the DBS code of practice at DBS code of Practice
Applicants are required to have read the DBS Enhanced Check Privacy Policy before making an application for a disclosure and you will be asked to declare that you have read and understood how the DBS will process your personal data during the application process.
