New applications and variations

You must advertise your application in the following two ways:

  • For not less than 28 days from the day after submitting your application to Rother District Council you must prominently display an A4, or larger pale blue notice on the relevant premises, which can be read from the exterior of the premises. If your premises is more than 50 meters squared in size then additional notices must be displayed. If your premises is set back from the highway you must also place a notice every 50 meters along the external perimeter of the premises abutting the highway.
  • A notice must be published in a proper local newspaper (not a selling platform or advertising paper etc.) for the area where the premises is located at least once within 10 working days from submitting your application to Rother District Council.

If you do not advertise your application in these two ways then your application is deemed invalid and all your paperwork will be sent back to you to resubmit.
