Question 16/20

Question:

Domestic batteries for recycling have not been collected for some time in Catsfield. I spoke with the team this morning and they advise that the truck no longer has a cage for these items! The Rother website continues to promote recycling of batteries but the service has, by default, been withdrawn.

What plans are there to resume this valuable service? (29/07/2020)

Answer:

Thank you for your feedback regarding the collection of domestic batteries for recycling. The response you received from the crew has been passed to the contractor for their information but the contractor confirms that batteries are still collected for recycling throughout the district.

It remains Rother’s policy to recycle as much household waste as possible, including batteries and small electrical items.

These should be placed in a recyclable plastic/carrier bag and left on the top of your waste bin on your scheduled collection day.  The contractor should collect it, regardless of whether they have cages on the vehicle or not. (30/07/2020)
