The concept underpinning the framework is that it is helping local government in taking responsibility for developing and shaping an informed approach to governance, aimed at achieving the highest standards in a measured and proportionate way.  By applying the principles in the Local Code, the Council commits itself to discharging its services to Rother residents in a way that demonstrates accountability, transparency, effectiveness, integrity and inclusivity.

The arrangements and standards set out within the Local Code of Corporate Governance will help Rother to enhance its process of modernisation, community leadership, community engagement, continuous performance improvement and is essential in the Council’s ambition in achieving excellence.
