This page will update you on funding available from the Rural England Prosperity Fund which supports local communities in Rother.

Rural Spaces Improvement Grant Fund – Now Open

This funding has been provided by the Rural England Prosperity Fund to support projects in rural areas, this means that we can only fund projects outside of Bexhill and the surrounding area (including Cooden Beach, Little Common, Sidley and Pebsham).

We have a total of £100,000 for this fund until March 2025. £30,000 was allocated in the first round, with £70,000 remaining for communities to apply from 1 February 2024.

Projects need to be delivered by March 2025 and comply with the grant eligibility.

Please note: the Rother Community Grants Scheme is available for community organisations based in Rother including Bexhill, check the web page for details of when the grants scheme is open.

What will we fund?

The objectives for this funding is to support the creation of and improvements to local rural green and blue spaces. This includes community gardens, watercourses and embankments, along with incorporating natural features into wider public spaces. All projects must demonstrate positive improvements for nature.

Applications to the scheme are welcomed from properly constituted organisations for services and activities which benefit the residents of Rother.

We strongly advise reading the Eligibility page before making an application.

What grants are available?

You will be able to apply for capital grants of up to £20,000. Your project must have at least 20% of the total project funding in place.

Round two is open from 1 February 2024, funding will be decided on a first come first served basis, until all of the funding pot has been allocated.

Before making an application, please ensure you have all the necessary documentation and emails required to process your application. Applications with missing information or without quotes will not be considered.
