With temperatures set to rise this weekend visitors are being urged to stay away from Camber Sands and help stem the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19).
Despite the Government putting social distancing restrictions being in place, large numbers of people descended on the area over the Mothering Sunday weekend.
In response, Rother District Council closed all three car parks serving the beach – Camber Western, Camber Central and Old Lydd, and asked people not to travel to the area.
A spokesman for Rother District Council said: “We are expecting good weather this weekend and want to ensure that large numbers of people do not travel to Camber and put others at risk.
“The advice from Government is very clear – do not travel to exercise and do not gather in large groups. We all have a duty to stem the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19), keep the vulnerable safe and ease the burden on the NHS.
“Please take the Government advice seriously. You will not be able to park and, by visiting the beach, you are putting other people at risk. Do not travel to Camber.”
