Customer service heroes gather at celebration event

Customer service heroes from Rother District Council have been praised for their work in helping residents, businesses and organisations.

Over 80 members of staff from various teams including customer services, housing, HR, IT, democratic services, environmental health and licensing had been nominated as customer service heroes – for going above and beyond to help people across the district.

Their work was highlighted at a recent celebration event held at Bexhill Town Hall.

The event was part of the Council’s participation in National Customer Services Week (4-8th Oct), to help highlight the Council’s aim to ensure the customer is at the heart of everything that the authority does.

Council Leader, Cllr Doug Oliver, Deputy Leader, Cllr Susan Prochak and Chief Executive, Malcolm Johnston, attended the event together with other senior officers and members.

Staff were praised for their work and officers and councillors reiterated the point that good customer service is a key responsibility for everyone – not just the customer services team!
