The Rother District Council offices will close for the Christmas break at 4 pm on Friday 22nd December 2023.

Our reception will reopen at 9 am on Tuesday, 2nd January 2024 – and our telephone lines will reopen at 9.30 am.

Changes to bin collections

Every household will experience a change to their collections over Christmas and New Year. If you have a Garden Waste bin, this service is suspended for two weeks and will resume in the New Year.

Aiimee – Rother Digital Assistant

In December 2023, Rother District Council released an updated version of the online Digital Assistant programme. Utilising brand-new technology, Aiimee is an AI-powered conversational bot, available 24/7 (even during our closure) to assist with the vast majority of Rother District Council queries.

Urgent out-of-hours support

Customers can use our out-of-hours service to report extremely urgent events that cannot wait until our offices reopen. Events include:

• car and house alarms
• dangerous structures
• If you are homeless and have nowhere to stay tonight  – this includes if you are fleeing from domestic violence.
