Tennis

The park has five public tennis courts which are available to use free of charge. A new on-line booking system is being trialled at two of these courts; those nearest Brockley Road.  This simple to use system will help ensure that courts are available at the times people want to play.

Bookings can be made up to 8 days in advance in 30 minute slots for a maximum duration of 2 hours in any one day. During the period March to September inclusive, slots are available from 7.30am through to 8pm. For the remainder of the year they are available from 8am to 5pm.

If successful, the system may be extended to the other three public courts, but in the meantime, these courts will continue to be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that the courts are not lit.

Coaching is not permitted without prior approval from Rother District Council. Anyone wishing to run coaching sessions from the courts should contact the Neighbourhood Services Team

There are two additional courts which are used exclusively by Bexhill Tennis Club and are locked when not in use.

Outdoor Bowls

In recent years, the Spartan’s (men’s) and Lakeside (ladies’) bowls clubs have merged and continue to be based at Egerton Park. The green is also available for public use. Tickets can normally be purchased through idVerde, the council’s grounds maintenance contractor but due to Covid-19, the green is not currently available for play.  This situation will be reviewed in the coming weeks, but in the meantime, people wishing to play bowls this summer may use the greens at the Polegrove or Sidley instead.

Indoor Bowls

The Egerton Park Indoor Bowls Centre is a members clubs with six rinks and is not run by Rother District Council.  To find out about the facility contact 01424 212228.

Boating

During the summer, boats are normally available to hire for use on the lake by the Museum.  Tickets for the boats can be purchased at the kiosk by the boating lake.  For further information contact 01424 224075. Due to Covid-19, it is unlikely that it will be possible to offer this facility this summer.
