Are you confident, self‑motivated, and experienced in working with the general public in a public safety environment?
Do you enjoy a varied and active role that involves spending significant time outdoors along our stunning coastline?
We are looking for a Seasonal Coastal Operations Officer to join our team during the busy summer period. Based at our Bexhill and Camber Coastal Offices, you will support the Emergency Planning & Coastal Services Manager in ensuring the safe and effective management of the Council’s beach operations.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and the ability to diffuse challenging situations with confidence and professionalism. Ideally, you will have previous experience in a similar public‑facing or safety‑related role. This position can be demanding at times, requiring you to work under pressure and respond to unforeseen or urgent situations, but it is also highly rewarding for the right person.
You will spend a significant amount of time working outdoors in all weather conditions, so a self‑motivated and resilient approach to the work is essential. Strong IT skills are also required, as the post holder will support the team with risk assessments, standard operating procedures, and incident recording and monitoring. Full training will be provided.
Flexible and weekend working is required.
