Salary: £24,847- £30,399 per annum. Starting salary dependent on qualifications and experience.

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our IT team as a first line IT Technician on our Service Desk.
As an IT Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing generalist IT support to employees and Councillors while supporting the Service Desk and Infrastructure Manager with technical projects. This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven IT Support Technician to join a dynamic team.
The IT department at Rother District Council plays a leading role in developing service delivery and assisting the Council’s digital transformation to become fit for the future. This is a really great opportunity for candidates to learn, grow and development to springboard a career within IT.
Please note that occasional working out of normal office hours will be required for this post.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Providing IT helpdesk support, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues on Windows, Office, and the 160 systems we run.
- Ensuring the smooth operation of key IT systems and equipment.
- Deploying IT equipment, ensuring proper setup and functionality.
- Collaborating with other IT team members to identify recurring issues and implement solutions to improve system performance and reliability
- Maintaining and updating IT equipment inventory, performing upkeep as needed.
Key Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems, Office 365, and common desktop applications
- Working under pressure and dealing with competing demands and deadlines
- Previous experience in a similar first line support role, preferably in a public sector or local government environment
- A proactive and customer-focused attitude, with a commitment to delivering high-quality support services
- Excellent Communication skills, written and verbal
