Rother District Council is encouraging residents to make gardening greener and easier by signing up to its garden waste collection service, with a special discounted offer and the chance to win garden centre vouchers.
From 12 January until 28 February 2026, new customers can subscribe to the garden waste service for a reduced price of £40 for their first bin. Everyone who signs up during this period will be automatically entered into a prize draw to win one of three £50 Blackbrooks Garden Centre vouchers.
The garden waste service offers a simple and convenient way to dispose of grass cuttings, leaves, hedge trimmings and small branches, with bins collected directly from the kerbside. This means residents can avoid multiple trips to the local household waste recycling centre, saving time, fuel and effort.
Using the service is also better for the environment. Garden waste collected by the council is composted sustainably, helping to reduce landfill waste and lower carbon emissions associated with individual car journeys. The resulting compost is then reused, supporting soil health and more sustainable growing.
Residents who sign up during the offer period will receive collections until 14 July 2026, covering one of the busiest parts of the gardening year. After this date, customers can decide whether they wish to continue with the service for the 2026/27 season. Renewal details and the applicable charge will be sent in advance, giving residents time to choose whether to continue.
Following the close of the offer on 28 February 2026, three garden centre voucher winners will be selected at random from all new sign‑ups. Winners will be contacted by the end of March 2026.
The council’s garden waste service offers a cost‑effective, environmentally friendly and hassle‑free solution for managing garden waste, while helping residents keep their gardens tidy throughout the growing season. People are encouraged to sign up early to make the most of the discounted price and prize draw opportunity.
