Rother Council provides rat, mice, wasp and other pest control treatments for Rother residents.
Rother District council can offer a wide range of services to treat pests that can invade your home or business. We employ a fully qualified and insured pest control officer who can give free advice over the telephone upon request. If you are unsure about the type of pest you may have, an advice visit can be arranged for which there is a charge. The charge can be offset against a treatment arising out of the visit.

How do I qualify for concessionary rates?
You can get this lower rate if you are a Rother resident, and you get:
- Job seekers allowance
- Universal Credit
- Income support
- Employment support allowance
- Pension credit guarantee
You will be asked to show your proof of benefit when the pest control officer visits. If you live in a rented property your landlord is responsible for carrying out any pest control treatments.
What you can expect
Once we have received your request the pest control officer will contact you as soon as he can. He will discuss your requirements and advise on the best course of action. You may be asked to do some work before treatment begins, for example not feeding the birds or any other wildlife. The officer will make an appointment with you to conduct the treatment. We prefer that you are present at the treatment but it is not always necessary. Safety literature may be left so you know what products have been used and where they are located. Other than insects most pest treatments will need two visits. When the treatment is over we will collect any equipment and unused product.
Please read our Pest Control Terms and Conditions
We do not provide a service for the removal of bees. However local bee keepers are often willing to collect a swarm. Please see our Advice on Bees page for more information.
