A new tool to help residents save money on energy bills and reduce their carbon footprint has been launched across the district.

Rother District Council has worked with Energy Saving Trust to launch the Homewise tool which gives residents a personalised plan including ways to save money on energy costs and identifying energy efficiency improvements for their homes.
The project is part of Rother District Council’s ongoing efforts to become a net zero district by 2030.
Cllr Kathryn Field, Rother’s portfolio holder for climate strategy, said: “I’m delighted that we have been able to work with the Energy Saving Trust to give residents access to this extremely useful tool which will help them reduce their carbon footprint.
“The personalised plan can also help people save money on their energy bills and make their home more energy efficient which, at a time when energy prices continue to climb, will be welcomed by many.”
Residents can provide information about their home and current energy use to find out how their home is performing with real life example of how they are using energy in their home.
The online tool then uses the information to create a personalised plan on what measures residents can take their homes more energy efficient.
With funding from Rother District Council, Homewise is completely free for district residents to use.
Cllr Field added: “I would encourage residents to make use of this online tool and see how they can save money, make their home more energy efficient and support us in our effort to reduce the carbon footprint of the district.”
Jamie Browne, senior business development manager at Energy Saving Trust said: “We’re pleased to be working with Rother District Council to launch the Homewise tool, helping its residents take steps to make their homes warmer and cheaper to heat, while reducing carbon emissions.
“We encourage residents to utilise this free resource that will support both their own and in turn their city’s journey towards a net future that will benefit residents.”
