Kickabout court temporarily closed

The free-to-play kickabout court in Egerton Park has been temporarily closed following vandalism to the fence and the new tennis court smart gate access system.

There has been an increase in the number of incidents of footballs being kicked into the adjoining tennis courts which has led to the vandalism.

Concerns have been raised about the health and safety of those who have been climbing the three metre fence to retrieve the footballs.

We understand the closure is frustrating for those who enjoy using the facility, but politely ask for the public to bear with us whilst a workable solution to this problem is implemented.

The recent tennis court refurbishment was achieved through Lawn Tennis Association funding, for which the kickabout court was not eligible.
