Rother District Council’s chairman was among guests celebrating 25 years since the Kent & East Sussex Railway returned to Bodiam.

The first public heritage train arrived in Bodiam in 2000 following years of commitment and hard work by volunteers to reconstruct the line, and financial help from organisations including Rother District Council.
On Saturday, April 2, district council chairman Cllr Richard Thomas gave a speech as part of the celebration event.
The project continues with an extension underway between Bodiam and Robertsbridge which will connect the Kent & East Sussex Railway to the national rail network, and bring a welcome boost to tourism and training and employment in the district.
