Keddle net fishing along the beach at Pett Level is licensed by Rother District Council under the terms of a lease dated the 6th day of February 1986 made between HM the Queen, the Crown Estate Commissioners and Rother District Council.
Application process and fee
If you would like to apply for a licence, you must contact us before making your application to check if a stand is available. If a stand is available you will need to complete our Keddle net application form and return it to us at the address below with the appropriate fee.
The current licence fee is £330 (£350 from 01/04/2024) for 5 years. No transfers or refunds are allowed.
For new applications only, applicants may pay 5% less when making an application. If you do, you would then be invoiced for this amount plus £20 for the additional administration cost, when the licence has been issued.
Once licensed you will need to adhere to our Keddle net conditions.
Further information
The Council does not provide any facilities for the storage of fishing nets and other equipment.
