The Playing Pitch Strategy for Rother District Council (2012 – 2018) has been produced to show the provision of playing pitches throughout the district and to highlight deficiencies and opportunities to improve provision
It will also support the implementation of Local Action Plans and inform the development of the Core Strategy. The strategy and appendices are available to download here:
Playing pitches and open spaces are valuable community assets and vital in providing opportunities for sport and physical recreation. Sport England, the government agency responsible for sport, encourages councils to carry out playing pitch studies and has to be consulted on development proposals resulting in the loss of playing pitches. The strategy is based upon their guidance and in conjunction with other community partners with pitch visits being carried out from 2009 – 2011.
