Rother District Council receives a large number of requests of a similar nature asking for details under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOI) relating to Business Rate accounts (non-domestic properties).
In order to improve openness and transparency, and to make it easier for you to find this information, we now publish specific information on the most frequently requested reports.
We will produce this data monthly and we will not continue to provide individual responses to requests during the year, or for similar information. Any such requests will be declined.
We will produce spreadsheets monthly for:
All businesses – including the billing authority reference (property reference) which can be used to obtain the hereditament information from the Valuation Office Agency, the rateable value, type of business and whether any relief has been granted.
New businesses – New Business Rate Accounts created in the previous month.
Business Rate Accounts in credit – All business rate accounts in credit. Details of both live and closed accounts
Information relating to individuals and sole-traders has been redacted as this data is exempt from disclosure under Section 40(2) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000. Account references are not included as these are personal to the account.
The information is accurate on the date the report is produced.
