As part of a “recruitment drive” for new Rother District Councillors to stand in the May 2023 elections, the Council held a successful pre-election event on 14 November 2002, at the Town Hall, Bexhill-on-Sea.  Attendees also had the opportunity to attend remotely, if they were unable to attend in person.  In total 22 (one remotely) prospective candidates attended.

The programme for the evening included: a welcome and introduction session by the Chief Executive and Deputy Chief Executive; a Panel of current serving Councillors (Coleman, Mrs Cook, Errington, Prochak and Vine-Hall) who shared their experiences, including specific formal roles and work in their local areas; a brief overview of member development and training by the Democratic Services Manager; a questions and answer session; and an informal session at the end for networking with Councillors and officers.
