Help us care for Rye micro wood, on Monday, 22nd June, 10.00 – 14.00.
Last year, community volunteers planted a micro wood on Mason Field to commemorate the coronation of King Charles III, enhance the space for visitors, and improve biodiversity. The micro wood has flourished, though now requires a little care to keep it thriving.
Residents and local groups are invited once again to support this small but important nature project, through some hand weeding and spreading mulch on Monday, 22nd June. No gardening experience is necessary, and you can drop in for as long as you like. The day will, of course, be weather-dependent.
All volunteers are asked to:
- wear clothing and footwear suitable for the weather and the activities, including gloves, and sunscreen if it’s warm.
- please bring a shovel and hand shears/secateurs if you can
- walk, cycle, use public transport or car share to the site wherever possible.
Mason Field is opposite Tilling Green Community Centre on Mason Road, TN31 7BE.
Please confirm your attendance by emailing elize.manning@rother.gov.uk, and forward this invitation to anybody else who may enjoy being involved.
