Construction Work at Bexhill Cemetery
Work is now underway for the construction of a new entrance to Bexhill Cemetery on St Mary’s Lane.
The new entrance will replace the existing access on the corner of St Mary’s Lane/Turkey Road for all future vehicle access. Pedestrians will continue to access the cemetery via the existing entrance.
This work is being carried out by the Council’s appointed contractor Trinity, in accordance with the approved planning permission RR/2018/2801/P.
The programme of work is expected to last 12 weeks, with completion expected during May 2021.
There will be 2-way traffic lights on St Mary’s Lane for a temporary period. This is expected to take place between the 22 February until 26 March 2021.
This work may result in some temporary disruption in vehicle movement in and out of the cemetery. Visitors to the cemetery will be encouraged to observe the temporary traffic signs accordingly.
The Cemetery will continue to remain operational during these works.
