Rother recognises the need for more homes to support its growing population and is committed to encouraging new developments that reflect local needs.

The Housing Development Strategy sets out the Council’s goals and targets for housing over the next five years. It provides a framework to guide housing policy and decisions, helping to ensure that new homes are built in the right way and in the right places.

This strategy also supports the Council’s climate commitments by working toward more sustainable design in new housing.

The Housing Development Strategy was formally adopted by Members on 14th July 2025.
