The Probity in Planning document has been adopted by the Council to guide Members involved in the planning process at Rother.

It provides guidance on how Members can maintain standards as Members of the Local Planning Authority. The guidance includes how Members should handle contact with applicants, developers and objectors or supporters so that information is properly taken into account without prejudicing their impartiality. The aim  is to ensure that decisions made in the planning process are not biased but are made openly, impartially, and with sound judgment.

If you would like to read the Probity in Planning document, please download it below. In addition, the Local Government Association with the Planning Advisory Service has produced a related document, Probity in Planning for councillors and officers, which has also been adopted by the Council and is also available to download from the local.gov.uk Probity in Planning page.
