Street Collections

To collect money or sell articles for the benefit of charitable or other purposes in Rother, you need to apply to us for a Street Collection licence.

Please note that conditions have been changed so that licences will only be approved for charities registered with the Charity Commission or known locally.  Only one collection will be allowed in any one area per day and that 50% of the whole profits go to the charity.

Tacit consent

Tacit consent does not apply to Street Collection Licences.

It is in the public interest that the authority must process your application before it can be granted. If you have not heard from us within a reasonable period, please contact us. You can do this online if you applied using the gov.uk website or use the contact details below

You can apply for an Street Collection licence in two ways:

After the collection

After a Street Collection you must notify us of the result of your collection. Again you can do this in writing or online by using the gov.uk website.

Consumer complaint

We would always advise that in the event of a complaint the first contact is made with the trader by you - preferably in the form a letter (with proof of delivery). If that has not worked gov.uk can offer advice on Consumer Protection Rights.
