There are no Council funded grants/discounts currently available for insulation or renewable energy measures. There are no Council endorsed energy efficiency schemes currently operating in the district. Disregard any reference to Council endorsed schemes made by cold callers or in leaflets etc.

There are grants/discounts available from other sources including utility providers and some major retailers.  Warm Front grants for heating and insulation may be available to low income households.  The Council directs all enquiries about grants/discounts, energy efficiency measures, solar hot water/PV, feed in tariffs, electric vehicles etc to the Energy Savings Trust.

The Green Deal 

The Green Deal is a government scheme and launches in October 2012. It may be able to help you make the property you live in warmer, more energy efficient and cheaper to run, without having to pay for the work upfront.

After an assessment you choose which eligible energy saving improvements you want to make to your home. You then pay for the improvements over time through your electricity bill, at a level no greater than the estimated savings to energy bills.
