Rye Neighbourhood Plan

Rye Town Council, as the qualifying body, has prepared a Neighbourhood Plan for the town. The Plan proposes a vision for the town and a number of planning policies to be used in the determination of planning applications locally.

 

Submission Rye Neighbourhood Plan (Regulation 16)

Copies of the Submission Rye Neighbourhood Plan and supporting documents are available to view and make representations on for a period of eight weeks from 16 November 2018 to 11 January 2019.

Representations

How can I submit my representations?

Any person, business or organisation may comment on the Plan or supporting documents including the Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA). Representations can be completed and submitted online using the online form below.

Alternatively, you can use the interactive PDF form below which can also be completed and submitted online, or saved and emailed to: ryenp.reps@rother.gov.uk or printed and posted to: Head of Service - Strategy and Planning, Submission Rye Neighbourhood Plan, Rother District Council, Town Hall, Bexhill-on-Sea, East Sussex, TN39 3JX.

All representations must be received by the Council no later than 4.30pm on Friday 11 January 2019. Any representations received after this deadline cannot be considered.

Please note that all representations will be publicly available and will be forwarded for consideration by the person appointed to carry out an examination of the Plan.

Anyone making a representation may request to be notified of the Council's decision to 'make' the Rye Neighbourhood Plan by ticking the relevant box on the representation form.

November 2018

Submission Publicity and Representation Period (Regulation 16)

Rother District Council is carrying out the Regulation 16 submission publicity and representation period on the Rye Neighbourhood Plan between 16 November 2018 and 11 January 2019.

October 2018

Submission of the Rye Neighbourhood Plan (Regulation 15)

Rye Town Council submitted the Rye Neighbourhood Plan to Rother District Council. See Submission Documents above.

February 2018

Regulation 14 Pre-submission Consultation

Rye Town Council carried out the Regulation 14 pre-submission consultation on the draft Rye Neighbourhood Plan between 23 February and 6 April 2018.

August 2015

Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) Screening Opinion

On 25 August 2015, Rother District Council provided a formal SEA Screening Opinion for the Rye Neighbourhood Plan.

November 2013

Designation of Rye Parish as a Neighbourhood Plan Area

Rother District Council confirmed that, in accordance with Regulation 7 of the Neighbourhood Plan (General) Regulations 2012 (as amended), the marked area shown on the submitted map (being that of the Parish boundary) was formally designated as the Rye Parish Neighbourhood Plan Area.

July 2013

Application for the designation of a Neighbourhood Plan Area

In accordance with Part 2, Regulation 5 (1) of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012, Rye Town Council (as the relevant body) submitted to Rother District Council an application for the designation of a Neighbourhood Plan Area.

This application included the following:

  • A map which identifies the area to which the area application relates
     
  • A statement explaining why the area is considered appropriate to be designated as a Neighbourhood Plan Area
     
  • A statement setting out why Rye Town Council is a relevant body for the purposes of section 61G of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990
