Rye Neighbourhood Plan

Current Position

The Town Council has now prepared its pre-submission consultation version of the Rye Neighbourhood Plan. The formal consultation, under Regulation 14 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012, is taking place between 23rd February and 6th April 2018.

Where and when the neighbourhood plan may be inspected

  • Electronic copies can be obtained from the website at www.ryeneighbourhoodplan.org.uk

  • Print copies can be viewed at Rye Library, Rye Town Council Office or the Tilling Green Centre.

How to make representations

Closing date for representations

The date by which those representations must be received, being not less than 6 weeks from the date on which the draft proposal is first publicised. Therefore, please submit all representations by 5pm on Friday 6th April 2018.

February 2018

Regulation 14 Pre-submission Consultation

On 23 February 2018, Rye Town Council began its Regulation 14 pre-submission consultation on the draft Neighbourhood Plan. This will run until 6 April 2018.

August 2015

Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) Screening Opinion

On 25 August 2015, Rother District Council provided a formal SEA Screening Opinion for the Rye Neighbourhood Plan.

November 2013

Designation of Rye Parish as a Neighbourhood Plan Area

Rother District Council confirmed that, in accordance with Regulation 7 of the Neighbourhood Plan (General) Regulations 2012 (as amended), the marked area shown on the submitted map (being that of the Parish boundary) was formally designated as the Rye Parish Neighbourhood Plan Area.

July 2013

Application for the designation of a Neighbourhood Plan Area

In accordance with Part 2, Regulation 5 (1) of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012, Rye Town Council (as the relevant body) submitted to Rother District Council an application for the designation of a Neighbourhood Plan Area.

This application included the following:

  • A map which identifies the area to which the area application relates
  • A statement explaining why the area is considered appropriate to be designated as a Neighbourhood Plan Area
  • A statement setting out why Rye Town Council is a relevant body for the purposes of section 61G of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990
