Planning appeals

The Planning Inspectorate Logo

You can appeal to the Planning Inspectorate against:

  • the refusal of planning permission or listed building/conservation area consent
  • any condition imposed on a permission/consent
  • failure to determine the application within eight weeks
  • the refusal of advertisement consent

Only the person who made the application can appeal. If you didn't apply, you can comment on an appeal instead.

You can also submit an enforcement appeal.

The Planning Inspectorate also allows you to check the progress of a specific appeal.
