An exciting opportunity has arisen to contribute to the Council’s plans to support those affected by Domestic Abuse. This is a new post where you will have the opportunity to shape and influence services that support survivors of domestic abuse.
As a Domestic Abuse Housing Needs Officer, you’ll be using your skills and expertise to deliver intensive, specialist support to homeless clients who are victims of domestic abuse. You will ensure better support and co-ordination between different areas within and outside the Council providing domestic abuse services. We are looking for a dynamic team player, who is a great communicator and is able to represent the authority with a range of internal and external partners, as well as at MARAC meetings.
The successful applicant will be compassionate, committed and collaborative with the enthusiasm and drive to transform the way local government and public services work. A strong knowledge of the Domestic Abuse Act 2021 and associated housing legislation. You will need comprehensive understanding of domestic abuse services and experience of providing service users with support. You will have great analytical skills and experience of stakeholder engagement with excellent organizational and IT skills.
