Salary: £30,279 - £32,245 per annum (pay award pending April 2025), plus £2,907 car allowance per annum

What’s the Role?
As Coastal Operations Officer, you’ll play a pivotal role in protecting, enhancing, and managing our iconic coastline whilst supporting its safe and enjoyable use for locals and visitors alike. Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing daily operations along the coastline, involving the implementation of safety measures, beach inspections, enforcement and proactive visitor engagement.
- Supervision of seasonal colleagues delivering services to citizens.
- Supporting and collaborating with external partner agencies including emergency services & the RNLI to deliver an excellent visitor experience and respond to coastal incidents and emergencies.
- Monitoring and maintaining facilities and infrastructure, including coastal assets, car parks & public conveniences.
- Acting as a champion for the coast, promoting responsible behaviour and conservation initiatives.
About You
You’re the perfect candidate if you:
- Have a minimum of three years supervisory experience.
- Thrive in a fast-paced, outdoor environment (and don’t mind a bit of sand in your shoes!).
- Are a natural problem-solver with excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Have experience in managing operational risks.
- Are passionate about public safety and delivering an excellent customer experience.
- Can rise to the challenge of working with high numbers of visitors to our beaches.
