Business Support Officer – Planning – Temporary Role

Salary: £23,152 per annum

Contract Type: Full Time - 37 hours per week

Contract Length: Temporary Contract - 18 Months

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Planning Business Support Team (PBS) as a Business Support Officer. We are committed to delivering high-quality services that positively impact our community, join our team and make a difference as we work together to support the growth and development of our area.

As a Business Support Officer, you will play a crucial role in supporting various essential functions within the Planning Service.

The responsibilities, that you will be trained to undertake, will include, but are not limited to:

  • Working with the planning applications IT system to registering planning applications and inform local residents/businesses that an application has been received
  • Undertaking the scanning, administration and validation of planning application, to make sure that all of the correct information is provided to enable Planning Officers to assess the application
  • General administrative duties related to Planning appeals including registration, and notifying and communicating with relevant parties.
  • General administrative duties within the Land Charge Service including registration of new Land Charge searches and recording information provided
  • General administrative duties relating to Planning Enforcement and the Community Infrastructure Levy

 Key Skills:

  • Excellent Communication skills, written and verbal
  • Numerical Skills
  • Working under pressure and dealing with competing demands and deadlines
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Ability to work with both electronic and paper maps and plans (following training)
  • High level of attention to detail
