In this issue we take a look at our ‘Love Local this Christmas’ campaign and how businesses can take advantage of grant funding to bring in low carbon solutions to improve efficiency and profitability.

Launched towards the end of November, the Love Local this Christmas campaign has been encouraging Rother residents to shop local, eat local and support local in order to help local businesses in tough economic times.

The Council has distributed Love Local posters right across the district, and we’ve been publicising the initiative via our website, the media and social media.

We’re really pleased with the feedback we’ve been getting from local businesses on our campaign.

If you have a business event that you would like us to promote or a success story that you would like us to share, please let us know at businessalerts@rother.gov.uk

Most importantly, we would like to wish all businesses throughout our district a Happy Christmas and Prosperous New Year!

Love Local this Christmas!

Rother District Council has, again this year, launched its campaign to support local businesses in the lead up to Christmas.

Residents are being urged to shop and eat locally during the festive period in support of businesses finding it increasingly more difficult to make ends meet.

Improving competitiveness by going Green

The Low Carbon Across the South and East (LoCASE) programme is supported by the European Regional Development Fund to provide a free business support programme in the South and East.

The aim is to help businesses become more competitive and profitable while protecting the environment and encouraging low carbon solutions.

To do this, LoCASE provides grants for businesses of up to £10,000 as well as training workshops and fully funded events. Targeted business support is on offer for companies who offer “green” or low carbon goods and services.
