Executive Team Support Officer – 2 Vacancies

Salary: £27,944 - £33,245 per annum. Starting grade and salary dependent on qualifications and experience.

Contract Type: Full Time - 37 hours per week

Contract Length: Permanent Contract

We are looking for two talented officers to join our Executive Support Team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly organised individual to work at the heart of Rother District Council and support the Executive Team.

About the team:

We are a small, friendly and dedicated team who are involved in all aspects of Council work. You will be working closely with the Head of Corporate and Strategic Services to provide comprehensive support to the Executive Team and wider Corporate Management Team.

About the role: 

This is a varied, demanding and high-profile role which offers an opportunity to build extensive knowledge and experience within local government.  The successful candidate will:

  • Provide executive support to the Chief Executive, Deputy Chief Executive and the Director of Governance & Community Services.
  • Manage diaries, provide support for meetings (including taking minutes) and deal with emails, correspondence, complaints and telephone calls to the Executive Team.
  • Provide a range of business support including collating research, briefings and presentation of data.
  • Arrange meetings and events, including parish conferences and forums, liaising with managers, officers and external stakeholders.
  • Support the wider Corporate Team by arranging meetings, taking minutes and progressing agreed actions.
  • Work with partners to administer the Community Grants Scheme and Rother Lottery.

  • Excellent communication and customer care skills, with the ability to work with people at all levels.
  • Proven administrative skills, enabling you to handle a wide range of tasks and queries with efficiency and professionalism.
  • Strong IT skills and the ability to implement improvements in this area would be highly valued.
  • Ability to prioritise and deal with unforeseen or urgent demands, delivering on a busy workload in friendly, informed and efficient manner.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High levels of personal integrity and discretion.
