1066 Country Website

The 1066 Country website receives in excess of 25,000 unique visits per month and this is quickly growing. The newly designed website was launched in October 2010 utilising cutting edge technology including itinerary builders, embedded social media channels and dynamic mapping functionality all of which should make the visitors experience more enjoyable and engaging.

Battle Marketing Campaign

The Battle Marketing Group is administered by Hastings Borough Council, the marketing group consists of key stakeholders in the town and surrounding area including Rother District Council, 1066 Country, Battle Chamber of Commerce, Town Council, Attractions, Accommodation providers, restaurateurs, retailers and event organisers.

An annual visitor guide is produced along with a dedicated PR campaign, annual events postcard, advertising banners for partners use and other ad hoc advertising. Battle have also a dedicated tourism website Battle Sussex and have set up a  Battle facebook and  Battle twitter page.

Sussex Breakfast

There are currently over 80 establishments taking part in the accreditation scheme of which over 15 are located in the Rother district.

The Sussex Breakfast is at least 60% local produce and must include locally produced free range eggs, sausages or bacon made from free range or low intensive, barn reared pork. Staff involved with the project will help accommodation providers to source and use local produce if they are not currently meeting the 60% limit.

The scheme is free of charge to accommodation providers and provides a number of benefits; promotion via the 1066 Country website, inclusion in any PR or press campaigns generated from the campaign along with use of the Sussex Breakfast logo on your own literature or website.
