Community Safety

Welcome to the Community Safety pages for the Safer Rother Partnership and Rother District Council

The Safer Rother Partnership (originally the Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership) was formed following the publication of the first Rother Crime and Disorder Strategy in April 1999. The first Strategy was developed in response to the Crime and Disorder Act 1998.

The Action groups are tasked to implement the key objectives of the Partnership.

The following pages have been designed to help explain the process and through regular updates will keep you informed of progress.

The Community Safety Co-ordinator supports the work of the Partnership and Groups within Rother, assisting and advising as necessary.

The Community Safety Co-ordinator may be contacted by letter to the Police Station, Terminus Road, Bexhill-on-Sea, East Sussex, TN39 3NR, by telephone on 0845 60 70 999 Ext. 64240 or by email by clicking the link to the right.

There is also Crime Reduction Advice from the Rother District Council Crime Reduction Officer who is based at Bexhill Town Hall and may be contacted by telephone on 01424 787845 or by email by clicking on the link to the right.

Regular bulletins are sent out by the police through the Community Contact scheme. Click on the link to the right if you wish to join. This is a free two way link with Sussex Police that lets you know what is happening in your area.

Reporting Graffiti

Most people would agree that graffiti spoils the look of any area. When graffiti is left it can seem that no one cares about what is happening and that nothing is being done to deal with antisocial behaviour.
