Coastal Environments - East Parade Heritage Project

East Parade is a stretch of seafront Promenade, 1.2km in length running east from the war memorial to Galley Hill.

East Parade 1935

East Parade, Bexhill-on-Sea - from the War Memorial to Galley Hill - has been identified within the Corporate Programme Project 'Coastal Environments' (reference: CA4.04) as an area that could benefit from regeneration through restoration and heritage interpretation.

An initial outline scoping study was prepared for the project on East Parade, to form a basis for pre-project development consultation and community engagement, along with an pdf icon East Parade Heritage Timeline [3Mb] identifying key events and activity - these can be found in the related documents section. These are large documents and may take some time to load.

It is intended that investment in East Parade will bring about social, economic, cultural and environmental benefits which will support Rother's Regeneration Strategy and the Corporate Plan Vision, helping to establish Bexhill-on-Sea as an economically viable destination.
