Please read before submitting your email to Planning

If your email relates to any of the matters listed below the following procedures will apply:

DO I NEED PLANNING PERMISSION?

Please note we no longer have the resources to carry out the necessary research required to be able to offer informal planning advice relating to specific proposals.

The Government's "Planning Portal" website at www.planningportal.gov.uk   provides information and some interactive tools which may help you to find out if planning permission is required.

If you require a formal determination as to whether planning permission or listed building consent is required for your proposal you will need to submit an application for either a Certificate of Lawful Development - Proposed use or a Certificate of Lawfulness of Proposed Works to a listed building  as appropriate.

The relevant application forms are available to download

PRE APPLICATION ADVICE FOR YOUR PROPOSAL

The Council offers a chargeable Pre-application Advice Service which is designed to provide consistent, quality advice on proposed developments.

Further details relating to pre application advice

You can download a PDF copy of the Pre Application Guidance Notes which explain the procedures and requirements for pre application planning advice together with the appropriate fees.
