Rother District Council

The health and safety service exists to protect the safety and wellbeing of those at work and all those who visit workplaces (contractors customers etc).

Health & safety within the Rother district may either be enforced by ourselves or the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) who are based at East Grinstead and Ashford.

Again as with food, all premises will be regularly and routinely inspected, based on a risk rating scheme and the interval may vary between once a year to every 10 years. There are 1900 premises that are inspected by ourselves.

Enforcement responsibility may change as Regulations are made which can transfer premises, in recent years we have taken on nurseries and playgroups.
