Housing Allocations Policy ConsultationWe would like your views about how we help people to find housing Like most of the country, we have a severe shortage of housing in Rother. This means there are not enough homes for everyone. To make sure we are giving homes to people in the fairest and most efficient way, a group has been set up to review our Housing Allocation Policy - the document we use to guide our decisions. Now we want your thoughts on what is being proposed. We help approximately between 200-300 people to find homes with housing associations each year. The Council wants to build comfortable and safe communities with a mixture of people living in them. The project group have identified things we think we can improve and these can be viewed below. You can also view the full draft allocation policy.
There is a 12 week consultation on the proposed changes. What you tell us from this exercise will be told to councillors who will then make a final decision on our new Allocation Policy. The consultation is open from 29th July 2011 to 21st October 2011. What do you need to do now? Read the document above (in PDF format) or, if you require it in large print, Braille or audio CD, contact our customer help point on 01424 787000. If you would like to make comments, email them to allocations.consultation@rother.gov.uk or alternatively ring our customer services number (above) and one of our officers will be happy to take a note of your views for us. I look forward to receiving your comments, Anne Fennessy |
