The Council set the Band 'D' Council Tax for Rother District at £156.61, an increase of 3.94% over last year's figure of £150.68. This means the amount of £3.01 per week, an increase of just 11p, is payable for the 60 different services provided by Rother District Council, by people living in a Band 'D' property. This is still the lowest Council Tax in East Sussex.

East Sussex County Council had earlier set its Band 'D' amount at £1,127.49, (3.5% increase), the Sussex Police Authority had set its Band 'D' amount at £134.73 (4.7% increase) and East Sussex Fire Authority had set its Band 'D' amount at £80.08 (3.9% increase). The total, excluding individual Parish or Town Council amounts, is therefore £1,498.91, an overall increase of 3.7%.
