The Council set the Band 'D' Council Tax for Rother District at £150.68, an increase of 4.83% over last year's figure of £143.47. This means the amount of £2.90 per week, an increase of just 13p, is payable for the 60 different services provided by Rother District Council, by people living in a Band 'D' property. This is still the lowest Council Tax in East Sussex.

East Sussex County Council had earlier set its Band 'D' amount at £1,089.00, (3.9% increase), the Sussex Police Authority had set its Band 'D' amount at £128.70 (4.9% increase) and East Sussex Fire Authority had set its Band 'D' amount at £77.06 (4.6% increase). The total, excluding individual Parish or Town Council amounts, is therefore £1,445.44, an overall increase of 4.15%.
