Charges in the Council's car parks are set by the DISTRICT OF ROTHER (DISTRICT OF ROTHER OFF-STREET PARKING PLACES ORDER 1983) (VARIATION NO. 10) ORDER 2005 which incorporates a schedule of all the car parks, although they may be varied by subsequent notices under section 35C of the ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 (as amended).

The DISTRICT OF ROTHER OFF-STREET PARKING PLACES ORDER 1983 contains general provisions regulating the car parks. For instance, providing that you cannot use a vehicle in the car park in connection with selling goods (6) or for sleeping (7). The full text of the Order is available [link]. A breach of the Order is a criminal offence contrary to section 35A off the ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 (as amended). The maximum penalty is Level 3 on the standard scale (£1000) in the case of misuse of a parking place reserved for disabled persons' vehicles, and Level 2 on the standard scale (£500) in any other case.
