Trading Standards - Consumer

Trading Standards is not a district council function and is provided by East Sussex County Council.

The role of Trading Standards is to maintain and improve fair and safe trading practices for all consumers and traders.

Consumer Direct
Consumers in East Sussex are able to call Consumer Direct South East, a new advice and information line, for clear and practical advice on a range of issues.
Cold Callers
It's that time of year again when the "cold caller"' is out and about. During the past month Trading Standards in East Sussex has received several complaints from people who have dealt with roofers, gardeners and tarmacers calling at their door, uninvited. In some cases, large sums of money have been paid over for shoddy, substandard and overpriced work.
